New York Semi-Custom Invitation Suite for Fall Daffodils Styled Shoot

These past few months of 2020 have been a blur, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who feels that way. So when Amanda from Amanda Wei Photo mentioned she would like the paper goods based on my Daffodils watercolor print, I’m very much on board. It symbolizes rebirth and a new beginning. They are associated with Springs and the end of winter and I feel like we all deserve little daffodils in our life for 2020. Plus, this also got published in Style me Pretty. So here’s to a more hopeful and bright 2021.

For the suite, I’m using my New York Semi Custom Invitation Suite. This one is letterpress with taupe ink and printed on Silk and Willow handmade paper (I love this combo and how versatile it is). I use a matching green paper for both liners and RSVP envelope. To add a bit more details, I glued the RSVP cards into a digitally printed watercolor backing to make them into A2 cards. I’m actually really loving this additional detail. With handmade paper, variations in sizes are to be expected. Since I usually mix handmade paper with regular envelopes, some cards ended up being too big for standard size envelopes but I can’t jump to A2 envelopes for 4Bar handmade paper without it being too big. So this is a perfect solution especially when the detail card was not a part of the suite. Tied everything off with Silk and Willow one of a kind botanical dyed silk ribbon.

For boutonniere’s tag, I cut a small strip of the backing paper for the suite, overlay a translucent vellum paper, secured everything with a tiny gold grommet, and add a thin strip of the same bespoke silk ribbon from the suite. I did all the names with Walnut ink to add a bit of contrast and feeling of Autumn. I love having the alternate alignment for the tags, they make for a much more balanced flat lay and styling.

The menus are foil printed with white foil on translucent vellum paper. The place cards are made from the same botanical print backing from the suite and boutonniere’s tag. All the names are written in white ink and everything is secured with tiny gold brads.

Oh, and don’t forget a pair of Olive Linen Vowbooks to complete any elopement ;)
